Classroom Learning

In Room 3 we have been learning about life cycles. At the moment we are learning about the life cycle of a butterfly (Monarch Butterfly). We have our own swan plant with a caterpillar, now a chrysalis in the classroom.

We created butterflies to show the life cycle of a butterfly.
We also brainstormed new words to help us explain the life cycle.

In Maths we are working on statistical investigation. We are asking questions about things we are interested in, then we use tally marks to record our answers. We have also been making pictograms and bar graphs to show our findings.

We had our first PE session with Shaun. We are learning ball skills, such as aiming and throwing at a target and using different throwing techniques, as well as tracking the ball and catching it. 

We had our first Kapa Haka session for the year. Lots of us went and had a go...

Welcome to Room 3

Hi everyone,

welcome to Room 3 for 2019. We have an exciting year ahead of us and you can see all the wonderful things we get up to on here. The blog will be updated every fortnight so come and have a look.

During the first week of the term we have been getting to know each other in the classroom and we have had our first discovery session.

During discovery time we built cars out of lego.

We built towers and tested how high we could make them.

Our topic this term is 'life cycles' so we created butterflies out of a range of materials.

More building...the tower got pretty big.

On Thursday we had a water fun afternoon. We could play on waterslides, have water fights, play in sprinklers and use water in the sandpit.
